AIM-9L is a straight upgrade over both R-60M and R-27T. The radar version, R-27R is nowhere near as good as AIM-7F/M + MiG-29's radar is utter garbage compared to F-14 and F-16. So basically MiG-29 is worse in both close and long range combat. R-27T looked promising, if not a tad OP on the first dev server.
