New: Koss KPH30i (updated KTXPro1) We just launched the KPH30i which is a sibling to the KTXPro1 & Pro35 (both of which I've seen talked about a few times on this sub). Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. I would gladly pay $20 extra if it comes with MMCX connector or some other detachable cable.
1.4K. 152. r/headphones • 28 days ago. The DAC/amp/EQ board that I designed for my open-source headphones project is almost ready. It runs 48kHz, 16-bit audio depth, and 6-band EQ. More details in the comments. 1 / 5. Here's the amplifier board. It has a DAC, amplifier, and EQ, all built-in. The newer Koss KPH40 released and does a lot of the same stuff for around the same price as doing the mod. So with my own collection, what are my thoughts on these headphones, as well as pad combinations. First let's talk about the KPH40. It's $40, and is very much like a stripped down, less clampy Porta pro.
Koss PortaPro Driver problems. Hello all! I'm running across a problem unfamiliar to me until now. I've had the PortaPro's since 2010, and have had no problem so far. I've changed the plug and rewired them multiple times with success, and had no isues until today. This morning, one of the drivers stopped working.
I owned Porta Pro's back in early 2000's and recently purchased a new pair out of nostalgia. Things that one should know about them: They are reasonably cheap. They are quite comfortable - i.e. lightweight, not too much pressure on a head (by this varies from owner to owner), unique folding mechanism that makes them fit in a tiny bag.

After 10 min of testing, I took the drivers off and retrofitted the KPH30i drivers on the P/21 headband, which was a pretty straight forward job. The headband in it self was worth it and I'm happy with the result. As for the P/21 drivers, I plan to put them in my MC helmet, so the purchase wasn't a mistake after all. raistlin65.

Sol Republic V8 headphones was my first headphone and Imo, headband is the only thing they got right in their design. Thus, I want to combine the best of both world between Sol Republic and Koss. Pros: Lightweight, beautiful design imo, comfortable, stable with good clamping force, maintain all Porta-pro headbands advantages without the weird

I have the Koss KSC75 headphones, which have hooks that clip around the ears, what you see here is the drivers from KSC75 that have been combined with a headband from Koss Porta Pro headphones. KSC75 can be had for $20 whereas Porta Pro are about $50. But I think it's totally worth. If you're on the limited budget I'd suggest the KSC75 with a Parts Express Headband ($2) and Yaxi pads ($12). I own the porta pros and kph30i as well but I find if I don't want to wear my DT880s the ksc75 is best for imaging/soundstage out of the 3 koss options. KPH30i with yaxi pads is my favorite out of the 3 for general sound though. They 6c2V.
